In the past 10 days, I've gone through;

"Dreams Made Flesh" by Anne Bishop
"The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams (Which I had never read before)
"The Wee Free Men" by Terry Pratchett

Now, on to my next "serious" book, the second Carlos Castenada book.

Is Hitchhiker's Guide any good?

Yes, it's pretty good. It had been built up quite a bit to me, and I'd read most of the jokes elsewhere, so it didn't have the profound effect on me that it has had on others. But it was a fun read.

When I was in my high school public speaking class the only A grade I received was due to Hitchhiker's. We were required to pick a theme and then present a piece of poetry and a piece of prose regarding that theme. My theme was life. I read the chapter where Deep Thought gives his answer and contrasted it with an extremely serious poem. Unfortunately I don't remember the title or author of the poem. All of the other grades I received in that course were C's, so I am particularly happy about this one A.
