D'oh.

In the ongoing saga of my computer running too hot - I had planned today to go out and finally get the goo to hopefully fix the CPU overheating issue. Apparently, I waited slightly too long - when I got home last night, after a 12 hour day at work, my computer would not boot. Everything appears to have power, but I'm not even getting a beep or a BIOS display. This suggests to me that my CPU fried some time Thursday night. If I'm lucky, everything else is still ok. Now I must figure out how to get the COU off of the motherboard, and go down to Canada Computers and ask them "what can I get that fits the same slot as one of these?". When I pulled the CPU fan off, the heatsink was clogged with dust, which was not, I suspect, helping matters.

Work is still trying to kill me, though it looks like I'll get to keep this weekend for myself. PLans of going out and trying to have an exciting night may be replaced my screwing around with various semi-fucntional computers (mine and others') while dressed up in ruffles and velvet (I'm going to dress up anyway, dammit!) and possibly drinking absinthe, if I can find any at the Summerhill LCBO.

On the plus side, life doesn't utterly suck - While my computer was dying, I was off having a Hot Date with a beautiful woman. No, life defintely does not suck.
