Gay Garden Gnome Pirates: the story

In 2006, some of us went to Kaleidoscope Gathering. As we like pirates, the first arrivals put up a pirate flag. Some of our camp are also prone to same sex snogging. We overheard others at the festival camped near us indicating that they were near "some kind of gay pirates or something".

In 2007, we ran with it a bit (but were mostly lazy), and also included some rainbow decorations along with our pirate flag.

This year, Kaleidoscope's theme is "Fairies, elves and gnomes, oh my!" I find this a little... twee for my tastes, and hence wanted to do something on-theme but odd. Hence, Gay Garden Gnome Pirates. At the same time, there is a fair bit of overlap with the same group of people for Pride, so we can also take our Gnomes with us to the parade.

The Gay Garden Gnome Pirates may be a one-time thing - Pride and Kscope this year may well exhaust the novelty of Proud Privateering Wee Folk Petite People. Only time will tell, I suppose.

I will totally be taking my Gay pirate Gnome to KG as well. I may be in another camp however. The Gnomish man-love will travel all across to the other end near the obstacle course. There will not be a place safe from Gnomish bad boy exploits.

It was fun having a afternoon of craftiness together. :)
