Crazy laws! I committed an indictable offense and was liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five minutes this summer. Wow.
I recall during the same-sex marriage debate, one of my co-workers argued that if same-sex marriage was allowed, then polygamous marriages would be next. My response at the time was that it was a slippery slope argument, and those are fallacies for a reason. Later, I thought about it, and thought about the poly people that I know. I decided that a better response would have been "so what."
