RFI: key rings

Anyone know where I can buy the rings used in keychains? I don't want the fob part, just the rings. In bulk, because I frequently find I have uses for them, so if I had a bag of 100 (or 1000) I wouldn't have to worry about finding another free keychain to cannibalize.

Michaels, or the equivalent arts and crafts store. I bought a bag of 10-20 years ago and it has served me well.

I think they are called 'split rings'.

maybe the crafting section of ebay, if you're a member there. Crafting stores like Michaels might have some, tho if you want a 1000 they could get costly. For that number, I'd try ebay, or crafting websites. If Canadian delivery is ridiculous, you can always have them shipped here if you don't need the right away and have the time for them to travel from the US to you via tribe courier. :)

Dollar stores often have them in the craft sections, usually in bags of 25-50. That's where I get mine, and they're standard metal rings. (I use them for crafting on a regular basis.)

Yup, they are called split rings, and I'd recommend eBay to get them inexpensively. If you go to a craft store for them, you'll pay quite a bit more for them.

Too bad you didn't ask a few months ago. I got rid of a couple of dozen. D'oh!

There's a bulk craft place in the east end of the city that has all kinds of interesting things. John Bead Warehouse. I think you might have to invent yourself a community group and designate yourself as their representative on made up letterhead.

I wanted some, and ended up buying a 10-pack of keychain LED lights for $5 from www.dealextreme.com.

Looks like they have a 50-pack for $23.

Last time I needed those I found them at Home Hardware.
