This week

It seems to me, that this past week has been unusually hellish. For me, for neeuqdrazil and for quite a few of our friends.

I wonder if it's just something simple, like the weather. It's been warm and rainy most of the week here. More overcast than its been for a while.

I feel a general erosion of patience. Like there's some kind of pressure building up somewhere, somehow.

Like something is either about to happen, or something needs to happen.

I have this odd sense of impending d00m.

Maybe I just need to watch more cartoons.

Or, maybe I need a weekend off to do what I like.

This is my third week on pager. This will be the third weekend in a row that I will be confined to quarters.

Next weekend, when I had hoped for freedom, I am being called into work. On a Saturday. With, presumably, no compensation for my time.

You could be right I hadn't thought about it in those terms. This all could just be an epidemic of cabin fever. Maybe we should have a organized chaotic event. Something like laser tag, or lacrosse.

Though, last time I did that, my sparring partner couldn't use his thumb for a day or so.

It feels like one of those eerie summer storms, where the sky has gone green, and the air is very very still. As if the world was holding its breath. Right before the storm comes.

Many things need to happen.

But you're right. There does seem to be a sense of waiting in the air. I just hope we can figure out what it's waiting for, and provide it.

Because this can't go on much longer without one (or both) of us snapping.

As painful as that is to say, we may not get around to smiling unless we schedule for it.
