RFI: Fancy hair places?

I'm giving serious consideration to getting my hair done all fancy like by a professional, instead of doing my own bad dye job. My hair's getting a little longer than I generally like it, and I'd like to go somewhere and tell them "do something funky with bright colours that doesn't clash with the beard, and cut it so I can wear it spiky" and have them do something nifty.

Any suggestions where I'd go for such a thing? I assume I'll need an appointment - I figure I can go get it done next Friday during the day.

There's always Coupe Bizarre. I've never been, but they seem to believe in colour.

Miranda rocks!

([livejournal.com profile] curgoth - she's the one who cut [livejournal.com profile] rednikki's hair when she and Quinn were in town all those years ago.)

Interesting. That's good to know. I have a friend who goes there regularly, and quite likes it. Then again, she seems to have an understanding with the guy who does her hair, which probably makes it easier to get something that works for her.

[livejournal.com profile] mscissorhands's work looks awesome.

the comments in [livejournal.com profile] toronto have been overwhelmingly negative, usually along the lines of "i told them what i wanted done to my hair and they did something completely different, and it was awful."

I got my hair cut at Coupe Bizarre for years, always by the same stylist, and never had a bad cut or colour.

I swear by The Lid Lounge at Church and Queen - www.lidlounge.com
My stylist is Sunil (aka my fabulous gay hairdresser) - he's always booked pretty far in advance, but any stylist there will do a great job.

Miranda at http://www.splitendzhair.ca/

She's the one that did that crazy patch-work shave-down on my hair, and is both creative and accomodating. Not cheap, but I trust her implicitly.

gah...

I want to send you to Chelsea...She's working in a place doing hair, but they also do tats & piercings there...

When I get home I'll try to find out what salon she is with! (It's in TO)
