I'm giving serious consideration to getting my hair done all fancy like by a professional, instead of doing my own bad dye job. My hair's getting a little longer than I generally like it, and I'd like to go somewhere and tell them "do something funky with bright colours that doesn't clash with the beard, and cut it so I can wear it spiky" and have them do something nifty.

Any suggestions where I'd go for such a thing? I assume I'll need an appointment - I figure I can go get it done next Friday during the day.

Well, no, not really.

Saturday, I went to go be an extra in a music video. My primary motivation was an excuse to dress up in my neovictorian clothes, since they're too warm to wear to clubs (can't dance in that much velvet!).

When I got there, I was asked if I could run in the boots I was wearing (picutred in the icon above). I said yes. I was then told that I was to be the star of the video, most of which consists of me running while wearing pointy toed boots and a black velvet frock coat. I had a lot of fun, though I was limping pretty badly yesterday. Not good boots for running! I would still have done it, though, if I had the choice. Too much fun!

Serendipitously, there was some kind of anime doll society meeting where we were shooting, so we snagged a couple of the kids from that as extra extras, and got some nice shots of creepy dolls.

All told, it was about five hours of running, on and off. Not good for my feet and legs, but totally worth it.

I will post the video once it goes up wherever it's going up. If you think it sounds like fun, they're doing another on on the 13th. I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to that one, but if anyone on my flist wants to borrow some clothes, let me know.

So I learned something tonight.

One bottle of "Nair for Men" is not enough. Not even enough, really, to do both my legs. Two hours later, I've removed the hair from my legs. Only my legs, thus far. I think I will leave the upper body until tomorrow.

Which influences my choice of clothes for the club tonight - do I want long sleeves and a skirt that shows legs or something? Do I need to lose the beard now instead of later? I know not. But I am tired.

People can post comments in there, and other people can respond anonymously to say they have a crush on said person. I've posted, and if you have a crush on me you should go and say so, anonymously in order to leave me well and truly mystified. (But better yet, leave a clue as to your identity! That's more fun.)You could post your own name, pimp it in your LJ, and see who responds on this steamy weekend with nothin' to do.

The beard is going strong at two weeks. It looks beardy, and should be solidly filled in by the end of the third week of beardiness. I do not know how long the beard will last - I suspect I will shave it off before the Dresden Dolls concert on the 25th for fancy-dress-up reasons. Beards don't go well with eyeliner, and they certainly don't go well with lipstick.

Speaking of makeup - anyone know off hand where to buy red eyeshadow? I've never noticed it at the drugs stores where I usually go when I want to look pretty - are people just using red lipliner, or am I shopping in the wrong places?

The drive in sucked this morning - there was a tractor trailer turned over in the collectors right around the busiest part of the 401, so despite leaving home at 6:45, I didn't get in until around 7:45. So much for getting in stupid early since I was up anyway...

I feel like obessively listening to VNV Nation songs and reading along with the lyrics while I do so. I am going to finish my Java homework instead.
