A weekend
Friday, I worked from home in the morning (which turned out to be a double good idea, due to weather). I met two co-workers in Chinatown for a dim sum meeting before heading down to the Ex to go skating, as part of my department's "festive gathering". Now, I haven't been on ice skates since I was in grade 2 or 3, so not only did I not have skates, I didn't know how to use them. I borrowed someone else's (too small) skates and squeezed in enough time for three laps around the rink, and I was mostly skating instead of walking by the last lap. From there, I went to dinner with the work gang on King West, and snagged some decent whiskey and whisky between the problem solving phone tag.
Saturday was mostly sitting around playing video game, with the evening being the division at work's Winter Gala - fancy dress-ish, prizes, decent food, charity gambling for tickets for the prize draw, and competent bar tenders. We won a thermos and a couple thermos mugs - not the ipod or xbox 360 we'd been hoping for, but seeing as we'd been planning on buying a thermos or two anyway, it worked out well.
Today consisted of a lot of video game playing and sitting on my ass, eating cookies. I had vague ideas about going out and getting needed winter wear, or possibly even starting my xmas shopping, but I apparently really needed a weekend to crash.
Now, I'm giving serious thought to curling up with my book and my lizard and reading until I pass out.
