I finally figured this out!

It turns out I gave both my wireless router and my new server the same IP address. This was not bright or good. Even if .50 seems like a good number. The important thing is that it is fixed now. Also, I should really document my network.

Now I have one less thing to worry about.

I think your problem is the same as my father's.

He's a professional contractor/cabinet-maker, and yet, he still has no door on his bathroom, a year later.

Change from construction to computers, and I think the analogy holds.

Seriously. I have four years of art school and I work as a freaking graphic designer, but I can't get a single piece of art up on my condo walls to save my life.

Luckily lack-of-art hasn't revealed itself to be a life-threatening situation, as of yet.
