PSA; for the next few weeks, the subway will be taking a different route along the Bloor line. Bay station is closed on Saturday and Sunday for construction, and no trains are going through the lower half of St. George. The new route goes from Museum (which runs N, S, E and W trains during this), to St. George's upper floor, then through, as the driver put it, "The Magical World of Lower Bay Station" before going on to Yonge. So, if you've always wondered what Lower Bay station looks like, now's your chance.

On the other hand, be prepared for an extra 10-15 minutes of travel time alng the Bloor line on weekends until this is done.

That was best explanation of the rerouting I've seen so far. Some of the news updates & things trying to explain it make it sound infinitely more complex than it is.

On Sunday night I added an extra leg to my trip home in order to go through Lower Bay. It was less thrilling than I'd hoped.

I prefer the Magical Land of Avondale personally. They at least have chocolate bars...

Yeah, it was neither shiny nor grungy enough for me, you know? Although the old ads were fun. Drakkar Noir!

Ooooh, it's like TTC-sanctioned infiltration.

If they were smart, they would plant a few people dressed as CHUDs or mole people in the station, jumping out when the subway rolled by. They could generate more business that way :)

I wish they would open up the Lower Queen station. That place is supposed to be spooky as hell.

Perhaps we could all dress up like the Morlocks from the X-Men. I call Artie!
