Since I had sewing class after work, my workout happened at lunch instead of my usual time today. It was beautiful weather - perfect, cloudless blue sky, warm but not hot (16 C), and a light breeze. Work's far enough north that I couldn't see the brown smog layer over TO. I had wanted to go outside to read, but exercise needed to happen. Instead of doing my usual treadmill etc. inside, I braved the cloud of smokers and went for a run around the area.

In other news:

I have been easing back into my workout routine. I had, a few weeks before December, started a new exercise program based on session with a trainer. After that, I hurt my hip/back dancing and spent 3 months recovering. As I've been getting back into it, I have come up with a theory. I think it is the lunges with weights that are messing up my hip. I went through legs on Wednesday, and felt twinges along the injured parts. My new theory is that I twist something incorrectly when doing that exercise, and that, when dancing on top of that, I messed up the glute/back area on the right side.

I need to figure out how to not do that. I have some ideas to work with.

My body is responding to the return to weights - whether anyone else can tell or not, my body feels and looks, to me, like it's starting to get its shape back. I still need to lose the extra fat I put on since December, but when my body gets back into muscle building mode, that should start happening. I suspect I will be less fit than last year when the year's first shirtless event comes around (that being Pride; the other being KScope). Nothing for it but to keep working at it though.
