Well, last night I decided to follow everyone's advice, and when I started to feel a bit shaky after only 10 min of cardio, I decided to skip the other 35 minutes of cardio and go for a soak in the hot tub instead. Then, Zil and I had our sushi a night early before coming home.

There was a misunderstanding about Zil actually watching the HMS Pinafore, so I spent most of the night in the bedroom flipping through the DRPG and trying not to fall asleep.

This morning, I remembered in the shower that I need to go get blood taken, to check my cholesterol levels. Hopefully, this will take the anxiety down a notch, since I can't do anything about the results anymore.

To do this, I had to fast for 12 hours beforehand; luckily, I hadn't eaten anything after we got home, so I skipped breakfast and was ok. I got the blood taken, ran into [livejournal.com profile] themusesbitch and went to grab breakfast.

I'm still fiddling with the idea of more protein and fewer carbs to control my weight. Also, I decided to give in to a craving, and so had McDonalds' sausage McMuffins for breakfast. Oddly enough, though, by lunch time, I wasn't hungry. This is very unusual for me, even given the lateness of breakfast. I'm always starving at noon, and usually get a big lunch. Today, though, I just had a sandwich and an apple; normally, that small a lunch would leave me grumbling and growling about being hungry by 3.

No hunger pangs so far. So, perhaps this idea bears further experimentation.

It looks like I'll make it to the gym tonight without incident. I've had a brief concern in that I'm scheduled to do weights with my arms tonight, and my left had blood taken from it... I don't know if there's a risk involved with that, beyond the arm just being a little sore. I don't want to pop a vein open mid-workout. I have no idea if that's a reasonable concern or not.

Hopefully, Zil and I will actually get some sleep tonight, with less snoring on both our parts. Then, tomorrow, shopping fest. Whee.

Well, protein takes almost twice as long to digest as carb does (it leaves the stomach in four hours as opposed to two. Fruit's gone in like 30 minutes)

Another thing: drink more water. Always. I know you guys are pretty good about that, though. I don't much care who you are, you're about 70% water. Drink more water. This comes from a long time drinker of water and other substances that tend to make you wish you'd drunk more water the previous evening.

Okay, that's my knowledgeable rant there. It should perhaps be noted that I'm trying to eat more protein to GAIN a little weight... but I really don't see Tofu as something that fattens you up
