Today, I woke up at 6:00 instead of 6:30. This is round one of my attempts to fix my schedule so that I can get the amount of exercise I should be getting.
I had hoped that getting up and leaving the house 30 minutes early might get me a bit more than 30 minutes early to work, by avoiding the rush, but I was foiled by bus schedules and subways taking naps in tunnels.
One of the nice things about the new place is that there will be one less bus trip involved; while the first bus trip is only 10 minutes, when you factor in waiitng and the occasional burst of traffic, it essentially adds 20-30 minutes to my commute every day.
I'm not a fan of mornings... It was still fairly dark when I woke up this morning. While I suppose getting up at 6:00 is nothing compared to what, say,
kalivor or
tafkar put up with, it's still icky.
