We had one of those a few houses down. He painted a big plywood sign that said "POLICE WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT" and propped it up on the chain link fence that surrounded his entire property.
That one proved to be self correcting. I was amazed that it took _months_ for the police to come.
Sigh. We never did hear if the gun he was wielding had any ammo in it. That got buried in the classified file.
