In the second series of Amber books, Zelazny reveals that Chaos, like Amber, has a pattern-ish thing that people traverse to gain power over Shadow.

This is called Logrus. While the Pattern is the sigil for Order, the Logrus is Chaos. While a Pattern user moves himself and changes the environment as he moves, the Logrus user stays put, lets the Logrus find things, and then pulls himself to the thing, or vice versa.

The Logrus manifests around the user as tendrils of power, which can be used to manipulate things.

I like Logrus because its squiggly Chaos doom. :)

Hung Qar?

I'm guessin' it's a martial art. Interestingly, Google is clueless in this instance.

Hung Gar is the style of kung fu I used to do; it means, basically, "Hung family style". It's a southern style, which means lots of low stances, strong punches and that the kciks are fewer and kept low.

I want to know the differences between your various martial arts:

hung gar, jing mo, jujutsu, kung fu

Hung Gar is the style of kung fu I learned with the Jing Mo kung fu club; which is to say, Hung Gar (Hung Family) is the name of the style, and Jing Mo is the name of the school.

In martial arts, they talk about hard vs soft (striking/attacking vs using an opponent's energy against them) and external vs. internal (internal meaning chi/ki and personal development instead of more comabt applications)

Hung Gar is a "hard" and "external" style, for the most part, though like most forms of kung fu, it touches on "internal" stuff as well. As a Chinese style, its movements are more continuous and flowing than you typically see in Japanese styles. Hung Gar places a lot of emphasis on two things; a strong, low "horse" stance, and a strong punch.

Jujutsu (aka jiu jitsu and a lot of other spellings) is a "hard/soft" style; it incorporates striking, but also uses grappling/throwing techniques to use an opponent's energy against them. Ju Jutsu means, roughly "Supple Art", "Gentle Art" or "the Art of Flexibility". The style I studied was a "stand-up" style, as opposed to the more recently popular Brazillian style of jujutsu that focuses more strongly on ground work.

It all started in high school, messing around in the new lab with the interweb. We found this story, and it's been nothing but monkeys ever since.
