tags!

LJ now has tags, if you use s2 styles. This means that I can go through and flag all my dreamtime posts with a dreamtime tag, and pull them all up at once if I want to. I've gone through and yagged "GameNerd", "DreamTime" and "BookLog" posts for convenience.

In that I'm now going to spend hours indexing my journal.

I went through my LjArchive and pulled up all my dreamtime, gamenerd, etc. posts, and made sure they had the right tags... though my journal is way too big to actually tag everything.

Mine's nowhere as big as yours, but it's almost two years worth.

However, I was working on an off-line index anyway, so this is much more convenient.
