I have decided to start a new thingy of the indeterminant time period - Iron Bartender.

I have often talked about holding an Iron Bartender party, but I've never been able to generate enough interest (and, more importantly, drinkers) to pull it off. However, after [livejournal.com profile] much_ado's recent post asking for a drink to go with the name "Chinese Fire Drill", I've decided to put my party game on the net.

This is how it works - I will post a drink name, and a theme ingredient. Come up with drinks that work with the name, and try to work in the theme ingredient if possible, though it's not a requirement - fitting the name is more important.

The drink for this round is "Thunder and Lightning". The theme ingredient is blue curacao, because I believe I have two bottles of it right now.

May I suggest substituting Cape Breton Silver -- which is essentially moonshine, i.e. white lightning - for the vodka?

Lets go for a shot (I've had this before)
.5 Oz Blue Curacao
.5 oz Jaggermeister
Splash of cranberry juice

The Bloody Thunder

a name like thunder and lightning sounds like a layered shooter to me. How about layering 1oz each blue curacao and moonshine?

I'm not a huge fan of Blue Curacao, so I'll sit this one out, but I'll definitely be up for future rounds. :-)

Did you see [livejournal.com profile] quicktongue's entry into the fire drill? Genius. You should invite him to your party.
