Hey! Now I remember why I only sew once a year...

Things to get before I can actually sew -

• a measuring tape (the tape measure is doing ok, but having an actual measuring tape again would be nice)


• some empty bobbins so that I don't have to spend time unwinding one I already have


• A room big enough to lay out my fabric on a table instead of the floor


• Knowledge of how to use a sewing pattern instead of just sort of cutting around a vague idea

what i do with bobbins is i tend to just wind more thread around a partially used bobbin, which generally works well because i generally have partially used ones of colors i am not currently using on a given project. however, eventually you do run out of room on the bobbin, so it's more of a temporary solution, but hey, i'm lazy and don't know if i'll be able to find the right kind of bobbins to fit this sewing machine or not since it's old
