My computer's display has been messed up all day. I pulled it apart, and discovered that the fan on the video card is not spinning. That would explain it - parts of the card are, I suspect now burnt out. Which means spending more money I do not have on computer parts.

What kind of video card do you need?

The dying card is an ATI radeon 9700 (AGP 8x).

Interestingly enough, I seem to be able top still use the card if I let it cool enough... so I have short periods of computer use, at least for now.

I have at least one spare AGP card, I'll try to get it wending its way to you ASAP. It won't be great, but it ran WoW before I upgraded so it should be adequate as a stand-in. And the price is definitely right :))

As it happens, AGP is further along the obsolescence curve than I thought, so I managed to pick up a refurbished card today for less than half what I was expecting.

what interface? if it is AGP i may have a spare 4600 you could use. not cutting edge I know, but better than nothing :)

I found a refurbished all-in-wonder 9600 for an unxepectedly low price, so I think I may be back in business...
