Sure, jelly beans come in all sorts of flavours.

But what about gummy bears? If you could have gummi bears in any flavours, what would they be?

Assume the standard colours are:
Red
Green
Yellow
Orange
"White" (aka that pale yellow colour)

How fun would it be to have a liquor flavoured gummi bear set?
Red: port
Green: absinthe
Yellow: tequila
Orange: scotch
White: gin

Your mission is to come up with exciting gummi bear flavour sets.

Right now, all I could think of was red: red curry. Mmmmm. Curry.

Ooh, Thai gummy bears! They've already got red, yellow and green curry, so we'd just need orange and white. I think orange could be mango, and white galangal root.

For some reason I thought of bodily fluids...I really don't know why. Green and orange were the only one's that really didn't fit.

I'm not usually that gross.

You really couldn't peg green and orange? Those came to mind immediately for me: green is snot and orange is subcutaneous fat.

You are so very right. I guess I was trying not to focus too hard on the topic.

LOL, I used to be a midwife so I developed a great familiarity with bodily fluids. ;) (Green could also be meconium in amniotic fluid, if I wanted to get more pregnancy-related about it.)

Oh wait! Orange: tumeric

Yellow: saffron

Green: thyme

White: roasted garlic

Fun Fact: Gummy Bears are suppose to explode in concentrated sulphuric acid.

The acid reacts with the sugar to make steam and carbon. Only the carbon is porous so it takes up more space than the sugar did. That and the steam trying to escape causes the gelatine to tear itself up from the inside.

I haven’t personally tried this but I would like to.

I would totally try your liquor-flavoured gummi bears, but I expect you know that. :-)

So instead I offer: sushi bears!

Red: pickled ginger
Green: wasabi
Yellow: yellowfin (a type of tuna)
Orange: salmon
White: rice would be kind of bland, so I'll say octopus. That's usually mostly white.

You could do the same flavours for gummi bears that you see in high-end jellies and marmalades. My choices would be:

Red: chili peppers
Orange: fig
yellow: ginger
green: mint
white: lychee

Hmm. Gummy Pasta

Red - Tomato Sauce*
Green - Pesto Sauce*
Yellow - Pasta
Orange - Carrots
"White" (aka that pale yellow colour) Parmesan cheese

* Yes, these actually do taste good together! Take left over pasta, and heat it up in a skillet with the opposite sauce.
