Drinking absente should be more fun done in a small group of pretentious people dressed outrageously, seated around a small table, lit by candles.

Absente, not absinthe. Absente is absinthe with no wormwood extract, and can be bought at the LCBO, along with versinthe, which is the same idea, but didn't come with a free absinthe spoon.
