Fat's fine, so long as you drink, too...

Mars! When I first looked at this, I though "hey, that's interesting... I thought that one star was really freaking bright the other night...". Then I thought some more... Mars is at it's closest in 60,000 years. After Wednesday, it's just going to get further away. From here on out, missions to Mars will just get harder. It makes me a bit pissed off that space exploration has gotten to stagnant.

I want moon bases! Space elevators! Men walking on Mars! Maybe even terraforming projects!

Eh. I really ought to update my glasses. I was out looking at the stars last night and I couldn't tell any of them save the big dipper. That's bad, and sad.

money money money...

Moon bases will come in time. First I need to build a secret volcano lair. Anyone know any South Pacific Islands for sale? Hell, even an Alaskan island will do.

On a more serious note, as far as human overpopulation goes, terraforming the Arctic and the Sahara would be rather a lot cheaper, what with already haveing liquid water and a breathable atmosphere, and already having quite a few colonists already on the planet. I may be an astrogeek, but there are limits to what I'd recommend.

I don't think people realize that Mars is about half the distance from us to the sun. Whereas the moon is RIGHT THERE. Bah.

Anyway, enjoying Red Mars thus far. Provoking riots and heaving bricks really far in low g is fun.

Oh come on, you know as soon as we try to terraforming anything there will be an endless amount of "special" interest protestors demanding that we stop.

"MARS ISN'T OURS! MARS ISN'T OURS! MARS ISN'T OURS!"
