For those of you who suffer from respiratory problems; Ontario Air Quality Indexes.

The UV index today is 9, of "very high". I can tell that this is accurate, because I could feel the back of my head start to cook while I was sitting outside at lunch, in the shade of a large pine tree. When you're tanning/sunburning in the shade, you know it's nasty.

I continue to be of two minds about the current heat wave; 28 degrees in the middle of May is, to put it mildly, unseasonably warm. While I suspect that within two weeks, we will have a dose of uncommonly cold weather again, I worry about the temperature swinging to warm when we're in full-on summer. 40 C is not a temperature I would like to experience. On the other hand, winter held on this year long enough that even I was happy to see it go. It's nice to finally have sunlight, and to be able to sit outside again. I'm finally enjoying our balcony.

What the fuck?!? In Boston, the temp is only 12. Normal average for this time of year is 19. I wore a short-sleeved shirt because it was supposed to hit 28, but there is no sign of that. I'm going to have to go grab a jacket before class.

Wow, where'd you get that weather? Here in Albany we're roasting this week... (went to Weather.com to translate into C from the 85F I'm seeing on our weather reports). We've been averaging around that 26-28C all week, and our lowest is supposed to be 23. Even on the one day it was supposed to be cold it skyrocketd on up (and boy did I feel guilty having sent the kids to school in long sleeves!).

Of course, then there was the year it snowed while we were at TBR end of May... which is why I will never plant my garden again before Memorial Day. *sighs*
