Speaking of being a valueless cog in a corporate machine, there is apparently a widespread rumour that walmart is planning on purchasing the large Canadian grocery chain I work for. Apparently, the wealthy owner of our company is looking for someone to buy his 61% share of the company, and Sam Walton is interested.
Were this to occur, my job would likely have a one year life span, just long enough to train the walmart employee who will replace me.
