Quick weekend update

Friday I went to the Pez Bachelor party, and had a good time. I also discovered that the last bus to Toronto leaves at 11:30, not, as I had thought, midnight. Thankfully, Pez provided me with much needed crash space.

Saturday was the the Firefly marathon. We made it all the way through! There was action! Adventure! Cuddling! More bus peril!

Today, sleep, greasy diner food, and recreational coding, topped off with Return of the King.

I need to shave shortly, or I will soon have a scraggly blondish beard, and that way lies madness! MADNESS!

I may have had too much sugar today.

I should spend more time sewing in the next little while. Maybe I'll learn to sew from a pattern, some day, and be able to make things that are not connected squares.

I was trying to convince him, but he seems to believe he'd have to do something with the rest of his hair in order to grow a beard.

My beard tends to come in a little scraggly, and fairly pale - after several attmepts over the years, I have come to the conclusion that I probably should not be bearded - and if I do go bearded, I should at least have my hair it's natural colour, or something lighter, since the beard comes in lighter than the hair on my scalp.

That said, I will probably try again eventually, once my current hair style gets boring. Maybe I'll go blond for a week or two, and try to combine it with vacation time to sneak in an unnatural colour briefly...

so, to answer your question, madness, more than sugar, will help.

As a proponent of both beards and madness I say: stop shaving! Don't pander to the patriarchy! Scraggliness demands more devotees! You have nothing to lose but your razors! You have nothing to gain but increased winter warmth and occasional scratchiness!

The modern face of the patriarchy is the Roman one. Beards are 'barbaric', don't forget. One of the things about our culture is that it likes to pretend we don't have physical bodies that are smelly and hairy...
