Note: L'Oreal Colour Pulse Black, is not actually black. It's just a little dark. Also, a little purple.

My hair is now a darker, stronger shade of purple.

I have two choices - run out to the 24 hour pharmacy and get industrial strength hair dye, or shave my head.

BWAHAHA!

Uh, yeah - the "blue-black" shades have a purple tinge to them. Much more dye will fry your hair, so be careful. Maybe a dark dark brown shade will help to cancel the purple? I don't know for sure, though, so you don't necessarily want to take my suggestion. Or you can strip your hair and redye it. Again, though, there's that danger with frying. Condition the shit out of your hair, whatever you decide to do.

I think you should take a picture so I can see what this little boondoggle into chameleon-colored hair looks like :)

Oh, no. *trying not to laugh*

At least you're a guy. That means you have two choices, instead of just one.

Go with purple, claim you're a new variant of colour blind?

Better yet, blame it on the horrible fluorescents! ("It's black in real light. It's not my fault you installed 'cost-effective' colour-shifted lights.")

I vote for the shaved head. So much easier at this point. Good luck!

ummm... bald sounds better than the alternitives... too bad you couldn't have kept it blue.

Bald is easy and cheap, and gets you more bonus head rubbing as it grows in :)

For next time you decide to do black black... the one I like best is from Schwartz-Kopf. The beauty supply place at Bay and Dundas carries it. I used it for streaking about a year ago, have since redyed and lightened overtop of those streaks, and they're still true black.

When I dyed my hair black last year, I used Feria "Black Leather" (marketed as a men's color). It's a brown-black rather than a blue-black.

I have no idea what effect it'd have with your current haircolor, however.
