Home safe now. I had a 4 hour commute home.

One of my co-workers is leaving this week, so we went out to a farewell lunch for her that ended up taking three hours. The drive back to the office was pretty rough, so after about 15 minutes, the call was made, and we all left.

I was on the road from 2:40 to 6:40, roughly. I ran out of energy at the first hour, but fortuitously, there was half a bottle of barq's in the car from the weekend, which woke me up enough to make it the rest of the way. On the bright side, I'm now much better at driving in snow.

Now I am very, very tired, and am going to go open a bottle of wine.

I go with red whenever possible. And tonight, it is possible. :)

I also prefer red. I think a bottle of rich and fruity Shiraz would be perfect.

I ended up grabbing XOXO shiraz cabernet - not quite fruity, but flavourful, and a not bad pairing with the chickpea soup Zil made. :)
