Lazy today. Just about time to go hop in the shower, then go grocery shopping.

It's been a very nice weekend. Which is good, because the next two weeks are going to be a prelude to hell.

I will have stuff to do at work, but nothing horribly time critical.

However, I will be carrying COM pagers. This is bad. This is bad because I am expected to answer the thing whenever it goes off. This includes 3am or whenever else something breaks.

It means I have to be available to dial in when these things happen. This means no going out, and probably means I shouldn't even be going to kung fu or the gym.

I'm not very happy about this. I was promised that I'd be taken off of rotation for the COM pager at work, but that has apparently been delayed until after Christmas.

Hopefully they won't try to stick me with the thing during Christmas. My relatives haven't seen much of me lately.

Damned crappy job. In January, I'll have been there for a year. Chrissy mentioned that she might be able to get me an in with kastenchase... I am giving this some thought.

I am very tired of carrying a pager, especially when the pay I'm getting is below the industry standard. Work acknowledges this, but ignores it.

Dude!

I dunno if they're hiring right now, 'cause they just did a round of interviews and stuff, but since they're getting busier and more profitable, I'm sure there's a good chance they will be hiring again soon! And as my dad does a lot of the hiring (for certain projects) and is tight with the people who do the other hiring, I can certainly get your resume to the right place with a good word attached to it! Might want to at least draft a kickass cover letter and send it to me with a copy of your resume. What could it hurt? When I see him, I'll ask my dad if any job openings are on the horizon....

Re: Dude!

It occurs to me that their website might have information like that as well. You could browse it anyway, 'cause knowing about the company you're applying to tends to lead to a more impressive/appropriate cover letter :) Kasten Chase.
