Car got broken into again.

Same window broken. This time they had enough time to get the other doors open and ransack the trunk etc. They took the $2-3 from the dash, and made a mess. They didn't take our CDs, and didn't touch the stereo.

We checked the other cars down there, and found that one car had been ransacked that we could tell. No other cars had broken windows, including the one that's identical to ours in the other garage.

Once was sort of bemusing, but I'm quite pissed off at this point.

So mostly they just fucked with your car for the hell of it?

Any chance you can talk to the garage to find out if they have any security footage?

Figured it was worth a try.

Is the access to the garage controlled for those on foot?

Hurm.

Talk to the management about this - see if there's any kind of pattern/multitude of this sort of thing happening. Perhaps if you talk to the rest of the tenants, you might be able to get them to put *in* cameras?

Well, I told the super (before calling the cops, even,) and she's going to inform "the office".

We'll see what happens.

Right. If nothing does, I'd still talk to the other tenants.

Oh Fuck.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm torn at this point as to whether it's worth locking our car over the $5 in change we lose every few months. They're always clearly looking for cash, because they don't even take the portable DVD player from ours.

*sigh* good luck with the insurance people.

When I lived in the market, my car got broken into regularly. So regularly, in fact, that I stopped noticing. Thankfully, it was an older car and the lock was easy to pop, so they never bothered smashing the window. Think I lost a fair bit of loose change, but nothing else that I know of.

Chalk up one good point for old cars (another being that you can fix 'em yourself).

Sorry to hear about your break-in. Smashed windows are never fun.

Ugh! That so sucks. Sorry you have to go through it again. :/

Argh! That blows. Doubly so that the damage was pointless.

Aw crap, that seriously sucks. *hugs*

You can get a low-end car alarm for $100. You can probably get a blinking light and some car alarm stickers for less than that.

You should install a grouchy chimpanzee. That'll learn them thieves.
