Ok, it is the season for hideous carols, grotesque men in grime-smeared red suits and gifting.

If you're planning to get me something for Grumpmas, comment here (comments screened) - I dislike xmas, and generally try to ignore it as much as possible, so if I don't know we're exchanging gifts, it probably won't occur to me.

I asked for, and recieved, lots of gift certificates for Grumpmas this year.

I had some of the stuff sent to work instead of home for those things I figured had no chance of showing up before monday (none of it did).

Surprisingly, my ThinkGeek order showed up this week, which was sooner than expected. It came with a $31.95 customs charge, which wasn't too unexpected. However, on closer inspection, the customs charge was not for my moon jar, but for the hoody I ordered. Which wasn't in the box.

And, accordingly, the packing slip inside the box has the hoody crossed out. The one DHL got, though, was not so altered, hence the customs charge. I have complained - we will see if they pass the buck on to DHL. I'm not looking forward to having to pay the customs charge *again* when the hoody ships.

On the plus side, the moon jar is awesome. Best case scenario, they'll give me the $30 in store credit and I'll order a matching sun jar.

I can has Fevar. :/

Weird, fucked up dreams last night, wherein I was ridden by an alien intelligence. It was metal-based, and green-mossy. Sometimes, I just had gods in my head, which was easier since they could at least understand the concept of a human. Fever dreams is spooooky. At least there was no wrestling Pierre Trudeau for the Canadian flag this time.

Fortunately, teh drugs are working, and I have had pretty ladies looking after me.

In other news, I survived grumpmas, spent too much money when I used my gift certs (since I'm here already...), and have been spending nearly all my computer time playing civ 4.

I owe peoples e-mails, which will prolly happen either tonight or tomorrow, depending on intensity of fever.

We've been to Woodstock and back. I'm packing my gear for Kingston to visit [livejournal.com profile] neeuqdrazil's family.

I'm physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted. I did something Bad to my back while dancing Saturday.

Also, I won't be making Dark Rave on the 6th - I'll be Up North, in a yurt.

I will have net access while I'm in Kingston, should anyone need to get ahold of me. My cell will also work there.

In honour of the season, I bring you a new icon, and my favourite Grumpmas song.

From Invader Zim's "The Most Horrible Christmas Ever"

Bow down
Bow down
Before the power of ZantaSanta

Or
Be crushed
Be crushed
By
His Jolly Boots of Doom.

(repeat until filthy humans acquiesce)
