[livejournal.com profile] neeuqdrazil and I do have power. If it gets to be evening and people on my flist *don't* have power (and more importantly, heat), we can open Beta Colony as shelter from the cold.

We do not want our friends in cold storage!

ETA: Check it out; A picture of the affected area last night. I'm guessing the big black square in the upper right is Mt. Pleasant Cemetary.

*looks outside*
I think I picked the wrong night to work late.
*ponders stopping for dinner somewhere near work before driving home*
This is not going to be a fun commute.

PS; actually, the drive wasn't that bad. I was glad that I took a minute in the mostly empty parking lot to remind myself what driving iin snow is like though. Much brake-pumping.

Well, winter is here! Yay! Snow!

The drive in this morning was slow, but, remarkably, most drivers seemed to be dealing with it well - driving at speeds appropriate to road conditions and being patient. I only passed one accident on the way in, and traffic was flowing around it sanely.

For those who don't like snow, relax. I can almost guarantee that it will be gone by next Wednesday.

You see, I love snow. I was born during a blizzard. As a boy, I used to draw a little snowman on the calendar a few days before my birthday, because I wanted there to be snow on the ground by then. It has been a long time since there has been snow on the ground on my birthday. Odds are, the weather will change and it will melt, with the 28th a grey and murky brown day. Rain would not surprise me.

On the other hand, if there's actually snow on the ground then, Imma make me a snowman.
