I cannot stop listening to Shut Up Woman Get On My Horse. This is worse than Strong Bad, Magical Trevor or the damned Badger song.

(link NSFW due to animated horse winkie and insanely catchy music)

[livejournal.com profile] neeuqdrazil and I do have power. If it gets to be evening and people on my flist *don't* have power (and more importantly, heat), we can open Beta Colony as shelter from the cold.

We do not want our friends in cold storage!

ETA: Check it out; A picture of the affected area last night. I'm guessing the big black square in the upper right is Mt. Pleasant Cemetary.

*sigh*

Squeezing my old fat hairy self into my goth gear. Drinking absinthe, putting on eye-liner and boots for one last hurrah. Savage Garden is closing tonight. From tomorrow on, I'll no longer be able to count on going to Queen West on a Saturday night and being able to find music I want to dance to.

It's been in decline for over a year, and its clear that the fix is in for Queen West as an area for clubs and weird clothes. I wonder if this is how folks like William Gibson felt when Yorkville turned into the Yuppie Preserve it is today.

I am just hoping the next bohemian neighbourhood in Toronto is actually, y'know, in the city. I'd hate to have to drive to Mississauga to go dancing.

I feel really old.

I should be in bed.

I am waiting for the "nooooooo!" scene in Revenge of the Sith to come up on Spike before bed.

Yesterday, I worked for 16 hours. I was not on-call, but got called anyway. Today, there were many meetings, and caffeine. If this continues, I will have to force my manager to promote me and give me another raise to compensate me for being effectively on-call all the freaking time.. Also, I should quit. Anyway.

Today was the 2nd week in a row of having Body combat class at the gym, with only one other attendee besides the instructor and myself. It's good for me to have someone else push me, especially when work keeps ruining workout nights. I hit the happy endorphin place today.

We've got a chest freezer now, and keep buying cheap local produce to freeze for the winter. My Evil Corporate Masters have boxes of peppers on for $8 right now. I bought two. I should stop buying stuff soon.

Apparently, I am in a good mood, and reading Lj and FB keeps giving me squishy compersion feelings. Y'all are so cute!

Did I mention I that I should be in bed?
Because I keep coming up with ideas, and not doing anything about them because I forget:

Pending creative endeavours

  • LJ post: Where Is My Mind: A meta-magical examination of my state of mind of late.

  • Microfic of the day (goal: one per day for November)

  • WorldBuilding: Making magic; designing a function ficton from the magic up

  • Neologism: SpellPunk

  • Finish up zombie raver outfit

  • Build my own Brass Goggles; I have the materials, just need to spend an hour or so with the dremel. Sadly, won't have time before NeoVictiorian Nightmares.

  • Caged Faerie: will require me learning how to do wiring.

I will be taking suggestions for microfic topics as I try to post one microfic per day.

Early U.S. Daylight Savings a bust in power savings

So, the main result was a big headache for IT staff throughout North America.

I'd really just prefer to see DST removed entirely.

Will a White Easter make up for our Green Christmas?

Dear NCIS,

It was good while it lasted, but now that you've decided to be a lame 24 clone instead of a more witty CSI clone, I'm afraid that it's over.

Dear House,

Keep up that wanking and you'll end up like NCIS.

Dear Heroes,

Come back! I love you!

Damned hard to find European size zippers.
