So, it is the first of February. A new beginning!

Thus far, I have;

  • Been woken up by the pager (nothing serious or time consuming)

  • Had no voice when I responded to the page (but some water cleared that up)

  • Had a tub of old soy flour dive for my groin from the top shelf when I opened a cupboard to look for spices, covering my only clean pair of jeans.

  • Had my webhost fall entirely off the net for a while (it came back, and now I am backing up the data files for my wiki)

February, are you fucking with me?

Yet more anti-Liberal stuff going on in my riding.

"A family with a sign received a threatening phone call saying, 'Take your sign down or you'll be next,'" Bennett told CBC News on Tuesday.

I remain baffled by this. What the hell is going on? If I had a front lawn, I'd be putting up a Bennett sign, even thoguh I'm likely not voting for her.
Seriously, what is wrong with people?

Someone has been going to houses with Liberal signs on the lawns, spray-painting graffiti, defacing cars, and cutting brake lines.

My personal pet theory is that it's some teenaged psychopath with rich conservative parents. I doubt we'll ever find out who's responsible.
ACUS is coming up, and I've been following a lot of the press about the upcoming D&D 4th edition (more on that later). All of this means that I'm thinking about RPGs and how they work, and wanting to run a game or two.

The caffeine has kicked in and my brain is racing.

And not thinking about work of course - that would be madness!

My thought is this; have TV writers started deliberately putting in slashy tension between male characters, is it a side-effect of the popular TV writing style these days, or has it always been there, and it is just that geeks have become aware of/started imaginging everywhere in our post-irony age of meta-content?

I woke up, went to the bathroom, shaved, and then realised what time it was. What the hell? I'm going back to bed for another couple hours. Screw you, internal clock.

ETA: And, of course, I then overslept, and am now 30+ min behind. Oy.

These guys make crazy clothes I could see myself wearing some of that stuff. Note to self - keep practising sewing and you, too, can make crazy clothes like this

Spiderman killed Mary Jane with his, uh, radioactive web fluid? Okay, then. I'll just... be over here. Watching Heroes. With my lead-lined underpants. (Link contains NSFW text)

Back from Kingston.

Back much worse - off to take more robaxacet. WTF.

Many comic books to read. Also, scotch.

Earliest morning yet - my body decided to wake up shortly after 5. The upside is that I made it into work at 7:30, so I should be able to leave at 3:30.

Worst. FetMasq. Ever.

Maybe I just had my expectations unrealistically by TOKink. But that was fucking absurd. Overcrowded and overloud, with tourists and idiots standing around chatting in the middle of the play space. I've been before and it wasn't quite that bad. We tried to play, and I couldn't get enough space to swing my arm, let alone a flogger. People posing on the equipment. Someone walked in between me and my partner, providing commentary while interfering.

We left after having been there less than an hour, including the short time dancing. I had dressed to play, so dancing didn't work out that well.

What a fucking total waste of time.

Maybe its just when we got there. Maybe it's just that it's the long weekend. Regardless, I was disappointed.

I'm in an inexplicably good mood today. Whatever was nesting in my sinuses all week seems to have left over night. I didn't get very much sleep, yet, I am not tired. I just sat down at my desk, and thought "hey, I'd like to hear $SONG_IN_MY_HEAD", then remembered that it was playing on my ipod before I got up, so I just had to unpause to hear it again. This made me happy enough to do a tiny little dance in my desk. People passing by have mentioned that I seem happier than I have all week.

How long will this hold out? We shall see. For now, I'm going to try to just enjoy it.
