Has Dr. Horrible tapped out the market for Mad Science for the next year or so? I'm beginning to think that I need to change my halloween costume idea.

An excuse to shout and rant sounds like a fine thing. ;)

Maybe you could just print out a photo of NPH c. 198-whatever, glue it to a popsicle stick and hold it up infront of your face occasionally whilst wearing scrubs?

This might be a good time to point out that my approach to Hallowe'en and costumes in general is significantly more half-assed (significantly less-assed?) than yours.

You're probably right. And, even more, the entire pop culture zeitgeist will immediately forget about =any= other Mad Scientist that ever existed.

You think you have it bad, I've been planning a Joker costume for the last 4 months :)

Coat color black? White? Other?

I think you should be okay.

I'm still noodling on my Girl Genius 'verse garb.
I've got a name and a sigil (well, almost, it's still in design)
And a 'hook' - which I will reveal after the con on the last weekend of this month.

Of course, girl mad scientists don't get misidentified... we'll see if anyone thinks I'm going for Agatha in my costuming... but I think they won't.

If it makes you feel better, I've never watched "Dr. Horrible" at all. I've never been one for jumping on bandwagons. But yes, I do know people who the minute they saw it, immediately decided that was going to be their costume for a con, Halloween, etc. Such is human nature.

Not Tripe...

It was trope, and amusing. I expected exactly what I got and it was fun.

You could modify your idea and be a Victorian Mad Scientist! Complete with no lab coat, because they hadn't been invented yet, but an old tail coat and/or leather apron over a shirt with sleeve garters, goggles, respirator (why not?) spats, and shiny brass things!

Oh, come now! Surely you want to dress up as Fake Thomas Jefferson like everybody else!

PS make Pete be Captain Hammer.
