I am trying to figure out my vacation time for next year. Because hey, the earlier I book it, the less chance I have of being turned down because someone else got it first.

I'm trying to think of events to try to hit in 2010. My list so far:

Anything else I should be considering? I'm up to 20 days of vaction a year, so in theory I could do *all* the stuff on the list currently, though I might want to save *some* vacation time for stuff that's not a convention of some sort (and that calculation assumes time taken for grumpmas visiting).

2010 dates/locations haven't been announced for Boreal yet, but here lies info. Haven't decided yet whether it's on my list for next year, but I enjoyed it best of last year's music festivals. It's definitely a BYOP* kinda event though.

* Bring Your Own Party. People can be a bit clique-y, so the more friends you take with you the more you'll enjoy it. =)

I think you might enjoy Boreal – a canoe/camping trip in Muskoka that cultimates in a banging techo party in the middle of the woods. Put on by the same folks who do Harvest.

I wanted badly to attend Harvest this year, but didn’t make it. If you go next year and were able to give me a ride, I’d make witty conversation and chip in for gas. ;)

I'm having similar issues. I'm really trying to find a way to get to England with my mom next summer. But I still want to do Wiscon, Kaleidoscope, maybe some random camping. Tricky.

Hell, I could afford stuff on my current salary. Not extravagant stuff, but I could afford to clean my sewing room, go for another bike adventure, sleeeeep.

South by Southwest if you're not going to ACUS. I think it's impossible to do both and doing the music festival is more fun for me--and I'm just a wristband holder.

Downside is that the badge is very expensive.
